We Welcome Your Donation and Connection
To Our Sacred Community
The Fellowship of Avalon is a non-profit and 501c3. We are an affiliate congregation of the Aquarian Tabernacle Church International whose office is in Index, WA.
Those that walk our path have always met together in covens, orders, and groves; small close knit groups who learned, worked, and supported each other on their spiritual journey. Then we entered a period where solitary work became popular and many people worked alone at home without the benefit of community with others of like minds. There are any number of books on being a solitary practitioner, but in our opinion solitary work was for those who could not find a group to work with in their area. The craft is traditionally a group practice.
The energy that is raised in group work is larger than the efforts of each individual. The work we do together is more powerful when we combine our efforts toward a common goal. The drumming, chanting, dance and meditation work build and help us to transcends as individuals. We are in community together mixing and blending our strengths, talents and intentions together. It’s powerful, meaningful and transformational.
Pagan and Wiccan groups are moving into the mainstream with federally recognized tax exempt status. We are now able to provide houses of worship, get involved in the local community, support food banks, support social justice efforts and be recognized as a force for good the local community.
Not everyone wants to meet in someone’s home or in a public park (in areas where it is even permitted). Our church structure allows us to rent a comfortable building with air conditioning and heating, privacy to drum and chant, clean restrooms and a comfortable environment to invite seekers and solitaries to come together with us. All are welcome, you do not need to be a member to attend our events and rituals. We have a box at each ritual for your donations, but we do not “pass the plate/cauldron” or pressure anyone to donate. We want you to be moved to give, to connect and to do the great work. That comes from your heart.
If we are to move more into the mainstream and protect ourselves from the various “religious freedom” laws enacted in some states, we need to present ourselves in a way people accept. We are a faith community. We can have nice things. We can be proud to invite our friends and family to our circles. Our workings can be open and inviting to all spiritual seekers.
There must be an energy exchange to build community. In the old days of village life, when you sought advice, teaching or training with the village sage or crone you could bring a chicken, goat, food or some other physical offering to exchange with the person or group. Today the energy exchange is money. We can’t pay the bills with a chicken, goat, food or even most barter ideas. Our landlord and MLGW want a check each month. We have to use accounting software to track our donations and operation for our tax exempt status. Supplies and refreshments are needed for circles and workshops. You're reading this on a website. All of this requires your partnership and donation to make it all work. Here are a few of the ways you can support The Fellowship Of Avalon.
